The Bol Punjab De team hit San Francisco’s Julia Morgan Ballroom at the Merchant Exchange building this weekend. Along side the great Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti on dhol and boliyan, plus Niku and Harvi in the mix, the packed house did bhangra until security shut it down. Im sure they had to after party it up as well. Big ups to the Bride and Groom Puneet and Ripple, they rocked!

Happy Vaisakhi
Bol Punjab De would like to wish all of our friends, family and fans a very Happy Vaisakhi.
Vaisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar. It is the Sikh New Year festival and is celebrated on April 13 or 14. It also commemorates 1699, the year Sikhism was born as a collective faith and a celebration of the Harvest season.

RIP Kaka Bhaniawala
On April 12th 2009, the bhangra industry suffered a devastating loss. The untimely death of singer “Santokh Singh Rathor” aka Kaka Bhaniawala has shocked the world. Kaka suffered from a disease caused Peelia (jaundice). Kaka Bhaniawala was known for some of the greatest hits in bhangra, such as Daru Pee Ke, Jawani featuring Dj H, Sanewal Chowk with Truskool, and his earlier work with Tigerstyle such as Nachna Onda Naye and my favorite jam Shad ti Aashquie. Bol Punjab De would like to send out deepest condolences to the family, friends, as well as the fans who suffer from this loss. God Bless.
The Bhangra Knightz and Bol Punjab De
Last weekend The Bhangra Knightz and the Bol Punjab De Dholis rocked southern California at the CSUN Bhangra Competition, placing third amonst some of the top rated bhangra teams of North America.
