The Bol Punjab De team hit San Francisco’s Julia Morgan Ballroom at the Merchant Exchange building this weekend. Along side the great Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti on dhol and boliyan, plus Niku and Harvi in the mix, the packed house did bhangra until security shut it down. Im sure they had to after party it up as well. Big ups to the Bride and Groom Puneet and Ripple, they rocked!

Check out this video I found of the 2008 Youth Festival of Punjab University, Patiala. Its a full Folk Orchestra with dhol, dhad, sarangi, chimtas, dholki, tumbi and much more. Simply amazing and very entertaining performance. Big ups from the whole bol punjab de team to these youngsters!
On March 28th, 2009, the Bol Punjab De Team hit Vallejo CA in full force, with a full display of dynamic sound and lighting. Bay Area’s Favorite Bhangra Djs rocked a crowd of 300+ with the latest bhangra, hip hop and top 40s beats. Heres a few pics from the event.

Vaisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar. It is the Sikh New Year festival and is celebrated on April 13 or 14. It also commemorates 1699, the year Sikhism was born as a collective faith and a celebration of the Harvest season.
