Bay Area representin! My boy Kanwar does it again. This time the Son of Sardar takes it to another level along side the industries greatest double duo, Sukshinder Shinda and Jazzy B. Set to release next month, however I found the title track of Jazzy’s next album on youtube, Check it out, I hope you like it. Its going to be on repeat on my ipod at the gym every day.
05.31.08 – Monterrey
Bol Punjab De Djs hit Monterrey this past weekend, playing the top Bollywood, Bhangra, Top 40s and Hip Hop jams. Great party with a jam packed dance floor for over 3 hours.
Sonu Samra and Niku in the Studio

The Bol Punjab De team just got back from vacation in the UK. Its been a while, but we gots a brand new bhangra mix with some of the latest UK beats and also the usual desi flavor. Album Review: MC Special – Something Special
This album was a great mix of every flavor. Desi mix of Duets and Underground UK Flavor. MC Special did a good job on all of the tracks except for an slight off key duet by Preet Brar. My favorites are Nachna by Kaka and Mitran di Jaan by Manake. Overall I give this album a 6 out of 10. Its good, but could be better. None the less, big ups to MC Special, I’m sure he will be making major hits in the future.
What Not to Say to a DJ
I got an email from my colleague Mr. Sukhi Dosanjh of BPR Crew, and I just had to post it up. Heres a list of things not to say to a DJ. I have heard them all, and at every gig theres at least one. I dont know if every will find this funny, but I had a great laugh when I read this.
1. PLAY SOMETHING GOOD…SOMETHING WE CAN DANCE TO!
The DJ has to play for more than one person…so what you hate may be another’s favorite song and EVERYTHING played can be danced to one way or another.
2. WOULD YOU PLAY SOMETHING WITH A “BEAT”
BE SERIOUS! We know of NO songs played at a party that don’t have some sort of BEAT!
3. I DON’T KNOW WHO SINGS IT AND I DON’T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, BUT IT GOES LIKE THIS….
PLEASE don’t sing for the DJ. They have to put up with a lot as it is …Do them a favor and DON’T give them a rendition of your favorite song.
4. EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR IT!
Oh, sure … you polled everyone on the dance floor and, as their spokesperson, you’re requesting the song.
5. EVERYBODY WILL DANCE IF YOU PLAY IT!
The DJ won’t. I guess that blows a hole in that theory!
6. I CAN GET LAID IF YOU PLAY IT!
Why settle for one night? Buy the album and get laid for a whole month!
7. I WANT TO HEAR IT NEXT!
The ONLY people who can get away with that statement write the DJ’s paycheck!
8. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO REQUEST, WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
It’s a lot easier for you to go have another beer and figure out what you want to hear than it is for the DJ to recite the name of every song in his collection!
9. HEY, MAN, NOBODY CAN DANCE TO THIS!
It’s NOT advisable to say this when the dance floor is packed (but some people do anyway)! HOWEVER, even if there is only ONE person on the floor, it STILL contradicts the statement!
10. PLAY IT SOON, BECAUSE WE’RE LEAVING!
If you’re gonna leave after he plays it, why shouldn’t he wait till the very last song so you stay all night!
