Live Dhol and Boliyan

The best way to spice up your event is to add a live element. For a Punjabi Wedding, nothing beats adding an amazing Dhol Player and Live Boliyan Artist to engage your crowd. Last weekend we got to share the entertainment stage with 2 of Northern California’s best, and our good friends Gary Bassi and Raju Dholi. The 2 did an amazing job engaging the crowd. Happy Lohri 2019

Bol Punjab De would like to wish everyone a very Happy Lohri. Hope you had time to celebrate with friends and family this past weekend.

Lohri is a popular winter festival celebrated in the Punjab region of India. Many people believe the festival is commemorates the passing of winter solstice, and the start of longer days. Other folklore connects Lohri to Agni (fire) or the goddess of Lohri, as well as to the tale of Dhulla Bhatti. Modern day, we celebrate Lohri for newly weds, as well as for a birth of a child.

Google Holiday Party

This past holiday season we were hired again by Google to DJ the Finance Departments annual Holiday Party at the City Club in San Francisco. We got to play all of the fun hip hop and top 40 radio hits, as well as some bhangra and bollywood tunes. What a fun night in San Francisco. Check out some pics and video from that night.

We decided to post an old remix by Harvi Bhachu to one of our favorite Surjit Bindrakhia tracks. November 17th 2011 marked the 8 year death anniversary of the legendary punjabi vocalist, and the Bol Punjab De djs wanted to release this as a tribute to singer who left a huge impact on the entire bhangra industry. RIP Surjit Bindrakhia.
